FA49 Officers (ORSAs) are stationed across the globe, providing critical analytical support at every echelon of the U.S. Army and the broader Joint Force. From tactical headquarters to the halls of the Pentagon, ORSAs use data to inform decision-making and create operational effects.
In the U.S. Army
ORSAs serve in a wide variety of Army organizations, ensuring data-driven insights are available to commanders at all levels.
Strategic Level
- Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA): Army Secretariat, National Guard Bureau (NGB), and Office of the Chief, Army Reserve (OCAR).
- Army Commands (ACOMs): Forces Command (FORSCOM), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Army Materiel Command (AMC), and Army Futures Command (AFC).
- Functional Commands: Human Resources Command (HRC), Recruiting Command, Military Entrance Processing Command, and Cadet Command.
Operational Level
- Field Armies & Corps: 8th (Field) Army and all four Corps Commands.
- Special Operations: Various Special Operations Activities.
- Sustainment: Theater Sustainment Commands.
- Direct Reporting Units.
Tactical Level
- Division Headquarters: All 11 active-duty and 8 National Guard Division Headquarters.
- Multi-Domain Task Forces (MDTF): Supporting the Army's premier formations for multi-domain operations.

ORSAs are highly sought after to serve in Joint assignments, bringing an operational Army perspective to the Department of Defense's most complex challenges.
Enterprise & Strategic Level
ORSAs at this level support the nation's senior-most leaders and contribute to the Army's analytic capability across all components and Joint commands.
